We are very happy to announce the winners of the 4th International Eduardas Balsys Composers Competition!

Main Group

1st Prize – Niki Main (Finland) “Ea was of water but could not cry” for string orchestra

2nd Prize – Tymon Zgorzelski (Poland) “Nirvana” for mixed choir

3rd Prize – Zihan Wu (Germany) “Lurk” for string orchestra

Junior Group

1st Place – Filip Gołdanowski (Poland) “Like a (wounded) little bird” for flute, clarinet, cello, double bass, accordion and piano

2nd Place – Bátor Mátyás Bedő  (Hungary) “Threnodia – in memoriam Sophiae Gubaidulinae” for trombone, violin, viola, cello, double bass and piano

3rd Place – Ho Sen Ken Xiao (United States) “In Pieces” for flute, marimba and piano

The composition that received most votes from the audience:
